• Profile and embeddable shoppable feeds have been supercharged with new powers.
  • All grid images when clicked now “pop up” with new product cards.
  • A product card is a dull name used here to describe a high definition version of your original Instagram post that includes so many new features that we’ve had to write them all down lest we forget.
  • Pop-up cards contain thumbnail views of the products you’ve linked to your Insta post.
  • Each product thumbnail displays a price, the product title and the coveted basket icon that leads directly to the corresponding product page in your store.
  • Clicking the product thumbnail expands it. Uncropped. Picture perfect. Shoppable.
  • Where multiple product images can be fetched, the same product expansion click shows a slideshow of yet more (yes more!) product images for that same product.
  • Until we figure out how to give computers eyes (which we will) this fancy slideshow will remain the privy of those online stores that have a tidy way of sharing their product image data via OG or Schema. Talk to us if you need help with getting your store to smarten up and be more social- we can try to book you in.
  • There’s a big, bold basket icon that appears at the bottom of each expanded product shot. Click it to shop that product.
  • To return to the original hero shot click the post thumbnail that’s now appeared next to your profile avatar.
  • Your original Instagram user caption & comments now complete the story behind your original image. Used wisely they spark ideas. A picture speaks a thousand words but ideas punch harder.
  • Hashtags now added. Hashtags are clickable.
  • Mobile grid views for the your Snapppt profile page underwent a major overhaul that includes staggered image row and display of user captions. This is a bit of a treat for accounts that link directly to their Snapppt profile page as customers attention span is used more efficiently. They browse more of your posts. You see better returns.
  • All pop ups are optimized for Mobile, Tablet and Desktop. The pop ups will auto-adjust to favor the form factor and screen dimensions they are being viewed on = happier customer eyes whether sitting down or walking the dog.
  • Left and right chevrons let you flick back and forth between cards.
  • Cards are touch active. Swipe left and right to flick through product cards on touch devices.
  • Pop up cards are uniquely linkable i.e. you can copy paste the URL to share the card. Handy!
  • Adding links has been breezified. This is now done via the same product card used to view the expanded version of the post.
  • If connected to your Shopify, SupaDupa, Etsy or, WooCommerce store start typing your product name and see it appear in the drop down list below the search box. Pick one to make your post shoppable.
  • A thumbnail product image is fetched live and displayed in real time helping to identify pesky name variations of products you may be fooled by.
  • Captions are added automatically to assume the original product name but these can be overridden if you so feel.
  • Use the ‘happy sun’ icon to see the product card you’ve just created.
  • Use the ‘pencil’ icon to edit it again.
  • Use the Right and Left chevron to sprint through making your posts shoppable. ‘Workflow’ is rarely a word that promotes a sense of wellbeing but, helloooo - this must be different. Thanks to the chevron twins, the pencil and happy sun we hope you get to get a kick outa linking up products.
  • All embeddable grids now load more of your shoppable posts when the end of the visible set has been reached.

Hotspots specific

  • Hotspots is a name we’ve given to the ability to add multiple product links to an image where each link can be applied to a section of the image it belongs to using a ‘spot’.
  • The spots you create aren’t hot to touch but rather ‘active’ in the way they get to play with your image and linked products.
  • Positioning your Hotspots is done using your finger or mouse. Drag a spot onto the image area it is related to e.g. if you are linking the bikini top product with an image containing a sunbathing goddess you might drag the spot to the, errrrm, chest area, drag another spot for the bikini bottoms… well you get the idea.
  • Sorting handles in your products links let you drag the URL / product box and sort its position within the stack. Renumbering your hotspots shouldn’t be hard.
  • Trash your link using the trash bin.
  • Hotspots animate when rolling over your profile page. On touch devices they appear as outlines. Seeing as they are there permanently we didn’t want they to obscure the view.
  • The profile page has extra powers providing a small thumbnail when rolling over the hotspots.
